What:  Coquitlam Christmas Farmers Market
When:  Saturday, December 12, 9am – 4pm
Where:  Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex
The skinny:  The Coquitlam Farmers Market Society is hosting their annual special Christmas Farmers Market. Workshops, carollers, choirs, Santa, storytimes. 45 vendors, food trucks, crafts, and more.

What:  Celebrate the Winter Holidays in Maillardville!
When:  Saturday, December 12, 12pm – 3pm
Where:  Chez-Nous Hall, 209 Lebleu Street, Coquitlam
The skinny:  Be ready for a magical winter moment with culinary delights, Christmas ornament workshop, refreshments and a spellbound of French-Canadian traditions. Christmas ornament crafts, refreshments, French-Canadian tradition, singing and many culinary delights.

What:  A Christmas Truce
When:  Saturday, December 12, 2pm & 4pm
Where:  Port Moody Station Museum
The skinny:  The Expect Exceptional Theatre Company will be performing A Christmas Truce at the Port Moody Station Museum. 101 years ago, thousands of soldiers put down their rifles, stepped out of their trenches and spent Christmas mingling with their enemies along the Western front. It was a rare moment of peace. What actually happened on Christmas Eve and Christmas day of 1914? This vocal tribute will commemorate the spontaneous Christmas truce of 1914 as you hear of what it was like for these young soldiers. Everyone is welcome to these free performances. Space is limited please RSVP to reserve your spot!

What:  Leigh Square Opening Reception – Tao of Clay and Paper
When:  Saturday, December 12, 4pm – 6pm
Where:  Leigh Square Community Arts Village
The skinny:  Tao of Clay and Paper features decorative and functional ceramic art, beautiful Chinese paintings and unique Islamic calligraphy and will run from December 10, 2015 to January 11, 2016. Bring your friends and family, meet the artists and view the artwork. Refreshments and beverages will be provided. This event is free to attend.

What:  Comfort & Joy: with Harp @ The Evergreen
When:  Sunday, December 13, 3pm & 7pm
Where:  Evergreen Cultural Centre
The skinny:  Choral music to soothe, uplift and inspire during the bustling holiday season. Singers of all ages share the stage for this annual, family-friendly concert. Guest Harpist Gillian Skinner joins the choirs to create an extra-special Christmas ambiance! 3pm concert features Con Brio, Con Bella, Children’s Choir and DeCoro with Gillian Skinner, Harp. 7pm concert features DeCoro and Children’s Choir, with Gillian Skinner, Harp.
