Goodbye for now

On April 22, 2009 I wrote a little post about Random Acts of Kindness at the Port Moody Library. With that began our little home on the internet. Blogs were all the rage in 2009, and I wanted to make one that would focus on all the cool things there were to see and do here in the Tri-Cities. There was no schedule, no real direction, just a sense that I wanted to get to know our corner of the world a little better.

So with that being the first post, this is the 1419th and final post. That’s a lot of words (mostly written by Amber). We’ve visited parks, taken pictures at events, walked the streets, eaten nachos, and so much more. We’ve learned so much about this place just by wandering around looking for things to write about.

But what all those words really represent are you, the people that make our community special. Through this site I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many of you, and now call many of you my friends. Since we announced the final date, we’ve been overwhelmed by the nice comments, emails, calls, and heartfelt Facebook Messages with emojis. We really appreciate each and every one of you.

While this is the last regular post here, this site will stay up for the foreseeable future. There are many many people who need good kids’ birthday party ideas.

Thanks everyone, and we’ll see you around. After all, Coquitlam 125 is going to be great.
