What:  R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Gala

The skinny:  The Port Moody Arts Centre Society is pleased to celebrate the R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Gala performance fundraiser presented by TD Bank Group. This gala evening will feature an evening of Art & Soul with gifted pianist Kristian Alexandrov and six-piece band, featuring powerhouse singer/percussionist Shannon Gaye to present R.E.S.P.E.C.T. – celebrating women of Soul, Rhythm & Blues.

What:  Opening Reception for Place Des Arts

Where:  Place Des Arts, Coquitlam
The skinny:  Drop by the festive opening reception for Place des Arts’ November Exhibitions and annual Christmas Boutique. Exhibitions include Karen Goodfellow’s Ancestral Dreams, Dante Comoglio’s Horizons and the annual Positively Petite miniature exhibition, featuring exquisite miniature artworks in a variety of 2D and 3D media by a multitude of talented artists. Most miniature works are for sale and are replenished frequently.

What:  Coquitlam Foundation’s “Kickin’ It Country” 2015

Where:  Centennial Pavilion, 620 Poirier, Coquitlam
The skinny:  Dust off your Stetson and polish your boots for the Coquitlam Foundation”s “Kickin’ It Country” 2015. There will be plenty of good food, dancing and an auction to lift your spirits and fill our coffers (we hope!). Tickets are just $50.

What:  Faculty Performance: Jimmy Baldwin and Friends
When:  Saturday, November 14, 7:30pm
Where:  Place des Arts, Coquitlam
The skinny:  Place des Arts guitar teacher Jimmy Baldwin is a versatile and modern guitarist and “gregarious country crooner.” Flowing smoothly between funky up-tempo grooves, exciting displays of musicianship and a few softer ballads, Jimmy and his band of accomplished professionals will deliver a lively, often foot-stomping performance. From the funky, country/soul sounds of his debut album Changing Time to rockier and more R&B-influenced new material, Jimmy’s sound is at once familiar and original.

What:  16th Annual Hyde Creek Salmon Festival
