What:  Celtic Christmas Charity Concert
When:  Friday, November 27, 7:30pm
Where:  St. Andrew’s United Church, Port Moody
The skinny:  Caelestra is a 5 member Medieval-Celtic band, that performs full costume. The music for the “a Caelestra Christmas” concert is original music, written, composed and arranged by a Port Moody songwriter and composer Britta Curkovic. Also included are a number of custom arrangements of traditional Celtic and Christmas music. The concert will benefit the charity “Beyond Soup and Socks: Housing for All”. Tickets are $15 Adults / $10 Children.

What:  Christmas in Leigh Square
When:  Saturday, November 28, 4:45pm
Where:  Leigh Square, Port Coquitlam
The skinny:  Start off the Christmas season at the annual Christmas Lighting Ceremony at City Hall with family entertainment at City Hall at 4:45pm. Come early to Leigh Square early and enjoy the Christmas crafts and treats and get the full schedule of Leigh Square’s 12 Days of Christmas program and the Heritage Tree Festival for updates on all our winter the festivities!

What:  Faculty Performance: A Souvenir for Christmas
When:  Saturday, November 28, 7:30pm
Where:  Place Des Arts, Coquitlam
The skinny:  Faculty member Dina Kholina and her guests Irina Faletski (piano) and Olga Kholina (soprano) present an evening of sparkling classical melodies. Enjoy the music of Handel, Tchaikovsky and Milhaud, among others, as well as a few dazzling Christmas duets and songs to get you into the holiday spirit!

What:  Family Day at PdA: Lantern Making and All Things Small
When:  Sunday, November 29, 1:30pm – 3:30pm
Where:  Place des Arts, Coquitlam
The skinny:  Bring the family down to tour Place des Arts annual Positively Petite miniature exhibition, Karen Goodfellow’s Ancestral Dreams, Dante Comoglio’s Horizons. Then participate in a variety of all-ages, drop-in style workshops inspired by the artists and the multitude of miniature artworks on display. Finally, create your very own lantern in preparation for our free annual multicultural celebration of light: A Lantern Affair on December 6. Admission is free; register online at

What:  Wine Tasting Club Port Moody
When:  Wednesday, December 2, 7pm
Where:  Gallery Bistro, 2411 Clarke Street, Port Moody
The skinny:  Enjoy a relaxing evening meeting new people and sampling amazing wines from around the globe. This is a casual evening tasting held once a month. The evening includes a minimum of five wine samples matched with gourmet food bites. Full memberships are now available. Drop-in memberships are available on a first-come basis.
