Help Coquitlam “Light the Hall”

Christmas Tree Lighting 2013 Coquitlam

Join the City of Coquitlam and presenting partner Bold Properties as they kick off the holiday season at Light the Hall on Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 2:00–5:00pm. Thanks to generous support, the City of Coquitlam has been able to further enhance the already popular holiday happening.

This free family event is held at Coquitlam City Hall (3000 Guildford Way) with activities throughout the afternoon, including crafts, photos with Santa, musical performances and a giant, inflatable snowglobe. The Coastal Sound Music choir will share a special performance of ’Twas the Night before Christmas just before the city turns on the holiday lights. And at 5:00pm, Graham Myers of Second Storey Theatre will lead the countdown that will bring over 60,000 lights to life as we light up City Hall and Lafarge Lake.

After the Light the Hall event, visitors are encouraged to make their way from City Hall across Guildford Way to the seasonal light display at Lafarge Lake. With over 60,000 lights and a number of unique illuminated features, this is one of the largest free seasonal displays in the Lower Mainland. Coquitlam’s Parks crews take pride in making this display bigger and better every year and there are some new additions you won’t want to miss. Our family makes a point of visiting several times every year.

This year you can help create part of the display by attending one of the “Pop Bottle Tulips” workshops. These “tulips” are then placed onto the lights in the display. All workshops take place in the Fraser Room at the Innovation Centre (the building across from the Evergreen Cultural Centre.
