What:  Scott Creek Community Garden Harvest Festival
When:  Thursday, October 22, 3:00pm – 6:00pm.
Where:  Scott Creek Community Garden (above the Coquitlam Crunch Parking lot, off of Lansdowne Drive)
The skinny:  Drop-in after school to the Scott Creek Showcase Community Garden. There will be a fall and winter gardening workshop from 3:30pm – 4:00pm and a canning presentation from 4:15pm – 4:45pm

What:  Seaview Community School’s Community Pumpkin Patch
When:  Thursday, October 22, 3:00pm – 5:30pm
Where:  Seaview Community Elementary School
The skinny:  Come find the perfect pumpkin at Seaview. Located in the courtyard outside the gym. Pumpkins are $3 and $5 each. There will be a small concession and other fun activities.

What:  Day of the Arts Pro-D Day Art Camp: Spooktacular Halloween
When:  Friday, October 23, 8:45am – 3:45pm
Where:  Place Des Arts, Coquitlam
The skinny:  Kids from Kindergarten to grade 5 will get set for Halloween through a variety of visual and performing arts classes during this fun Pro-D day art camp. Pre-registration required.

What:  Port Moody Rock and Gem Show
When:  Saturday and Sunday, 10:00am – 5:00pm
Where:  Kyle Centre, Port Moody
The skinny:  A Port Moody annual tradition. The show theme this year is “Supernatural Stones – The Natural but Unusual Properties of Stones.” This year they are featuring a significant display of florescent minerals.

What:  Youth Band Showcase
When:  Saturday, October 24, 7:00pm – 10:00pm
Where:  Inlet Theatre, Port Moody
The skinny:  For ages 13+. LIVE from Inlet Theatre! Come by and check out local bands as they showcase their talent. The line up of bands is ADOB, Clavinova Nights, The Soothers, The Bird & The Lion and Smart Allek.

When:  Saturday, October 24, 7:00pm – 9:30pm
Where:  Heritage Woods Secondary School, Port Moody
The skinny:  Sample from over 50 top-rated BC wineries, 10 local Restaurants and Caterers, Silent Auction & Grand Prize Draw.

What:  City of Coquitlam’s “Salmon Come Home”
When:  Sunday, October 25, 11:00am – 3:00pm
Where:  Hoy Creek Hatchery, Coquitlam
The skinny:  The salmon are back in Hoy Creek! Join the City of Coquitlam and the Hoy-Scott Creek Watershed Society to celebrate their return at the annual Salmon Come Home gathering at Hoy Creek Hatchery. Bring your family and friends to participate in this exciting community event which attracts thousands of people to view spawning chum salmon in-stream, and learn about this amazing fish through educational demonstrations and displays.

What:  Family Day at PdA and Mr. I’s Spooky Songs and Stories Concert
When:  Sunday, October 25, 1:30pm – 3:30pm
Where:  Place des Arts, 1120 Brunette Ave, Coquitlam
The skinny:  Gather up the family and tour three exhibitions and participate in several all-ages workshops based on the exhibitions’ media and subject matter! Join us at 2pm for Mr. I’s Spooky Songs & Stories concert, perfect for getting wee ones (and the rest of us) in the mood for haunting! Admission to Family Day is free; admission to Mr. I’s concert is $7/person.

What:  Norman Foote: The Howl – A Family Halloween Special
When:  Sunday, October 25, Two shows – 2:00pm & 4:30pm
Where:  Evergreen Cultural Centre, Coquitlam
The skinny:  Angels sing along with ghosts, zombies and ghouls! Music, costumes and Halloween all come together as Juno-award winning children’s music artist Norman Foote comes to Evergreen for two performances. Tickets are only $16 for adults and $12 for children.
