Red Rock Diner Coming to Evergreen

Evergreen Red Rock Diner Coquitlam

Red Robinson is a Vancouver legend, who has played an important role in the city’s music scene since the 1950s. And now a play showcasing his broadcasting career is coming to Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam. Red Rock Diner first opened at the Arts Club in 1997, and it was such a huge success that it’s played a second run in Vancouver and major productions were also launched in Toronto and Kansas City, among other cities.

The play begins in Vancouver in 1957. It follows the story of five teens who are coming of age while while DJ Red Robinson plays the biggest hits of the time. You’ll hear classics from the raucous “Great Balls of Fire” and “Jailhouse Rock” to ballads like “Diana” and “Crying.” This infectious musical captures the excitement and innocence of the city’s burgeoning rock ‘n’ roll scene.

Filled with energy, phenomenal talent, and great music, Red Rock Diner will leave you singing and dancing along to all of the songs you’ve come to love and grow up with!

The show is running from October 27 to November 1, 2015. It runs about two hours and ten minutes, including the intermission. Tickets are $45 for adults, $35 for seniors and $20 for students.

If you want a little more out of your theatre experience, you can attend one of two special events. At 7:15pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 you can join the production team in Evergreen’s lower lobby for an insider’s look into the show with a key member of the production team. And on Thursday, October 29, 2015 there will be a talk back session in the theatre with the cast and members of the production team following the performance.
