There are lots of things this week. Lots and lots of things to do. A bumper crop of things to do. Many have to do with Culture Days across the Tri-Cities. For the entire list check out the events calendar.

What:  Exhibit Opening: Shattering the Silence
When:  Thursday, September 24. 7-9pm
Where:  Leigh Square, Port Coquitlam
The skinny:  In this powerful exhibit, Karen Santos and Suzanne Laird aim to shatter the silence surrounding mental and emotional health by showcasing their own journeys from physical and psychological trauma to healing and recovery. Event is free to attend.

What:  Pro-D Day
When:  Friday, September 25
Where:  Across School District 43
The skinny:  Didn’t the kids just get back into school? There are lots of activities for kids on their first Pro-D day of the year. Visit Place Des Arts, Port Moody Arts Centre, Port Moody Recreation, and many more.

What:  Crossroads Coffeehouse
When:  Friday, September 25. 7:30pm
Where:  Leigh Square, Port Coquitlam
The skinny:  Raise funds for the Crossroads Hospice as well as enjoy the casual atmosphere and acoustical performances. “Rootsy” group Soda Crackers headlines. Admission is $5 at the door.

What:  Burrard Inlet Fish Fest
When:  Friday, September 25 to Sunday, September 27
Where:  Rocky Point Park, Port Moody
The skinny:  As part of Culture Days. Music, food, entertainment, storytelling. Sunday morning there is a pancake breakfast. Mmm…pancakes.

What:  Kidney Walk
When:  Sunday, September 27. 9am
Where:  Lafarge Lake, Coquitlam
The skinny:  Kidney Walk for Kidney Transplantation and Organ Donation. 2.5k walk around Lafarge Lake to raise money for kidney health.

What:  Fast Forward to the Future Lecture Series
When:  Monday, September 28. 7-8:30pm
Where:  Port Moody Public Library
The skinny:  Join international speaker and Futurist Dr. Paul Tinari to discuss 3D printing! Bring your questions and watch a real 3D printer at work. Admission is free.
