Life’s a Beach at Blue Mountain Park

Blue Mountain Park Pop Up Beach Coquitlam

This summer the City of Coquitlam is inviting residents and visitors alike to bury their toes in the sand and join in the fun at a temporary sandy beach. It’s located smack in the middle of the city at land-locked Blue Mountain Park. The Pop-up Beach will remain in place until August 21, 2015 and will feature beach-themed elements and activities every week including Adirondack chairs, beach toys, flags, seashell digs and sand castle displays. Residents are encouraged to bring their pails and shovels and build a sand castle.

Blue Mountain Park is one of Coquitlam’s original and most popular family parks. In addition to the Pop-up Beach experience, visitors can also enjoy the many regular park features, including a spray park and wading pool, playground, cycling paths, and picnic amenities.

Those visiting the Pop-up Beach are reminded to take advantage of the Coquitlam Selfies Contest, which runs until July, 26, 215. Snap a selfie and enter the contest for a chance to win a $50 Canadian Tire gift card. Contest details at www.coquitlam.ca/CiB.

Presented as part of Coquitlam in Bloom, the Blue Mountain Park Pop-up Beach is in support of Coquitlam’s entry into the 2015 Communities in Bloom competition. Throughout the summer, the City’s Coquitlam in Bloom team have hosted a variety of fun and interactive events and invite the public to participate in adding summer colour and excitement to our parks. Pop-up Beach weekly activities will be updated at www.coquitlam.ca/CiB.
