The Coast Salish Cultural Network is proud to announce the launch of All Nations Festival — a three-day celebration of Coast Salish culture, art, language, and identity, occurring this year from July 23 to 25, 2015 in Kwikwetlem, Coast Salish Territories.

The All Nations Festival is an annual Arts and Cultural festival celebrating Coast Salish cultural resurgence by bringing together the performing and visual arts, food, sports and ideas. The Festival program includes over a dozen events such as:

PechaKucha Night and Festival Launch Event with Sister Says

Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 7:30pm
PechaKucha means “chit chat” in Japanese and is an inspiring speaker series hosted globally in over 700 cities each. Speakers present innovative ideas and personal stories with 20 slides in 7 minutes. Special musical guests, Sister Says. Tickets are $12.

Kwikwetlem /kə ‘ lōkwēəm/ [a.k.a. Coquitlam Colloquium]

Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 9:00am–1:00pm and Friday, July 24, 2015 from 1:00–7:00pm
A once-in-a-generation opportunity for Coast Salish artists to explore the state of Coast Salish cultural production and identity. The colloquium will help raise the profile of Coast Salish art, culture and language throughout the region. Plenary, breakout sessions, panel discussions, art exhibition, traditional foods, and performances combine with dialogue led by leading Indigenous scholars, professional and community artists, and cultural leaders. Author/Poet Lee Maracle will deliver the Keynote Address, introduced by Dr. Gwen Point.

Coast Salish Leaders’ Roundtable on Shared Environmental Stewardship

Friday, July 24, 2015 from 9:00am–1:00pm
Dialogue on strategies for common environmental stewardship practices and goals. Includes the participation of representative from Coast Salish governments, municipalities, provincial MLAs and federal MPs. Public welcome.

Free Outdoor Music Stages and Fireworks at Town Centre Park

Friday, July 24, 2015 from 5:00-10:00pm and Saturday, July 25, 2105 from 12:00-9:00pm
Twenty musical acts playing rock, funk, hip-hop, folk and EDM, featuring performances by Inez, The Funk Hunters, DJ Hedspin, Ostwelve, Bill Henderson, Doug & The Slugs, Keliya, and more.
