Kids Get Active on the Cheap this Summer in Coquitlam

Pools and Spray Parks in Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam

Victoria Day is behind us, which means that summer has unofficially arrived. If you have kids, you are likely thinking about what you will be doing with them over the lazy, hazy days ahead. The City of Coquitlam has a solution for keeping everyone active and engaged all summer long.

Coquitlam is introducing a new pilot project for 2015 – the Summer Child & Youth Pass. This universal pass will be valid for all drop-in activities throughout the entire summer.

For only $20.00, the Summer Child & Youth Pass will provide parents with an affordable option to keep their kids active this summer. Children and youth, from birth to 18 years, can enjoy unlimited access to their favourite recreational activities – or try something new!

The Summer Child & Youth Pass includes access to all drop-in programs, including:

  • Indoor and outdoor pools
  • Gym and sports programs, such as drop-in basketball or badminton
  • Fitness centres (some age and time restrictions apply)
  • Physical activity classes (for those 16 years and up)

(PS – Stay tuned for our annual post on outdoor pools and spray parks throughout the Tri-Cities where you can get your splash on!)

Before working out, teens must complete a one-hour Summer Teen Fitness Starter. A small registration cost of $2.00 is required. Click here to register online.

The Summer Child & Youth Pass is available for purchase now, and is valid from June 21 until September 6, 2015. The cost for each pass is just $20.00. You can purchase your Summer Child & Youth Pass in person at these locations:

  • Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex, 633 Poirier Street
