What: The Foreigner (An Arts Club Theatre presentation)

What: International Women’s Day with the Tri-Cities Chamber

International Women’s Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In some places like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, International Women’s Day is a national holiday. Join the TriCities Chamber of Commerce, Barbara Stegemann, W. Brett Wilson, Senator Yonah Martin and other notable guests in bringing recognition of International Women’s Day to the lower mainland with this unique, first-of-its kind local event!

What: Gallery Bistro presents Jazz Piano with Leo Bae

What: Travel Toggery 1900-2000: A History of Travelling Fashion

Join host and Fashion Historian Ivan Sayers for a glamorous live fashion show. Ivan will give an unforgettable review of men’s and women’s travelling fashions from 1900-2000. A fashion fundraising show presented by the Port Moody Station Museum.

What: Place des Arts Spring Break Art Camps
When: Monday, March 9 through Friday, March 13 from 8:45am to 3:45pm for Grades K to 5; two daily sessions for Grades 6 to 9, from 9:00am to 12:00pm and from 12:35 to 3:35pm.

The skinny:
Each Spring Break, Place des Arts offers a variety of creatively engaging visual and performing arts classes for children and teens. The Spring Break Camp for K-grade five is filled with fun and creative activities in the visual and performing arts sure to keep kids enthused and engaged over the break. For grades 6 to 9, four, week-long, half-day art intensives are designed specifically for youth, allowing them to delve more fully into the chosen art form. This year, classes will be offered in Jewelry Design, Video Game Illustration Art and, back by popular demand, two Pottery Intensives.

Be prepared for three days of fun as the annual Spring Break Festival rolls into Evergreen Cultural Centre with shows for the whole family. Wonder at Monster Theatre’s magical production of The Little Prince on Tuesday, March 10, be captivated by the upbeat grooves of the Afro-Brazilian Carnaval on Wednesday, March 11, and laugh along with The Purple Pirate in Message in a Bottle on Thursday, March 12.
