What: Leigh Square Coffee Concert – Company B Jazz Band

The skinny:
Back by popular demand, the Coffee Concerts showcase an exciting line up of professional musicians from across Metro Vancouver at Terry Fox Theatre! On February 18, see why Company B Jazz Band is Vancouver’s foremost vintage jazz harmony group. A 6-piece ensemble featuring a female vocal trio (à la the Andrews and Boswell Sisters) framed by clarinet/sax, guitar, and upright bass, “the Company” has been entertaining the masses since 2007 with their tight blend, driving rhythms, creative arrangements, sharp image, and charming wit.

What: Whose Live Anyway?
When: Thursday, February 19 and Friday, February 20 at 8:00pm

The skinny:
 Whose Live Anyway? makes it way back to the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver – originally scheduled for one show on February 20, popular demand resulted in a second show scheduled for the 20th! Whose Live Anyway? features Stiles along with fellow comics Greg Proops, Jeff Davis and Joel Murray. Together they perform many of the hilarious games made famous on their Emmy-nominated TV series, Whose Line Is It Anyway? Audience participation is key to the live stage show so ticket holders are encouraged to bring their suggestions … and they may even be asked to join the guys on stage.

What: 2015 Wearable Art Awards

Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22 at 6:30pm

The skinny:
The Wearable Art Awards is a multi-media performance where the human body becomes a living, breathing, moving canvas. Artists were asked to go deep into their imaginations to create a wearable piece of art that challenges what most consider to be wearable, or everyday fashion. This event showcases the response to the call.

What: Place des Arts Faculty Performance: Something Old, Something New feat. Kylah Powell

The skinny:
Place des Arts’ Faculty Concerts provide an accessible opportunity for local music lovers to hear exceptional musicians playing in an intimate setting, with the talented music teachers presenting several diverse faculty concerts throughout the year, ranging from classical and jazz to contemporary and world music. Dancer Kylah Powell, artistic director of CollabArt Creations, remounts some of her past contemporary dance pieces and premieres fresh new ones. Kylah’s choreography ranges from slow, fluidic-type motion to downright quirky and intricate and explores themes such as limits and boundaries, making choices, reflecting on the past and stepping away from the cultural norm.

What: 3rd Annual Walk 2TALK (to end bullying)

The I AM SOMEONE Ending Bullying Society is proud to present the third annual ‘Walk 2TALK’ supporting the 2TALK texting program connecting youth in the Tri-Cities with support via text message for issues such as bullying, depression, loneliness and more. Walk 2TALK supports Tri-City Youth, building a caring community one step at a time. 2015 Walk 2TALK t-shirts and merchandise will be available at Coquitlam Centre Guest Services starting February 14th.

Meet some new friends and learn what styles of wine you enjoy at this relaxing monthly wine tasting! Sample a flight of 5 to 6 wines matched with delicious foods prepared by the culinary team at Pasta Polo. The club’s wine experts will guide you through the tasting so you can learn something interesting about each wine and discover new favourites. Wines sampled are from around the world, and vary at each tasting.
