Place des Arts in Coquitlam was founded in 1972. In the past forty-plus years it has grown into an established non-profit arts centre and music school located at Carré Heritage Square in the historic Maillardville neighbourhood. The centre offers quality arts education for all ages and abilities to inspire the artist in everyone. It also has an Artisan Shop and galleries to support local emerging artists, and it hosts a variety of events and performances. And now, it’s in search of someone with an interest in local arts and culture who would like to give back to the community.

Place des Arts is seeking a volunteer board member with fundraising expertise to sit on the organization’s Board of Directors. The Place des Arts Board is a Governance Board responsible for setting direction and guiding fundraising efforts.

Requirements of this position include attending one Board meeting per month for 10 months of the year, attending Place des Arts events, building relationships networking to support fundraising efforts, and sitting on at least one committee.

The ideal candidate has training and experience in fundraising and/or capital campaigns and has an interest in arts and culture. Place des Arts would also prefer someone who lives in Coquitlam or the surrounding area, or is at least familiar with the demographic make-up of the Tri-Cities.
