Looking for work? If you’re considering your career options, there are two workshops coming up in Port Moody that you might want to mark on your calendar. Put on by the Port Moody WorkBC Centre, you can learn about entrepreneurship on October 15, 2014, and about job interviews on October 23, 2014. And the best part? They’re both free. Here’s the scoop.

Self-Employment Information Session

Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 2:00pm-3:30pm

The Port Moody WorkBC Centre is hosting a self-employment information session to inspire local residents to consider entrepreneurship as an employment option. Michelle Jickling, Business Consultant from the Training Group at Douglas College will be in attendance to introduce the Self Employment program, including participant eligibility and suitability. You will also hear from local business owners who participated in the program and who are now successfully running their own businesses. Light refreshments will be provided.

Winning Job Interviews

Port Moody Public Library

It’s no secret – job interviews are nerve-wracking for most people. However, with the right attitude, preparation and some practice, you can learn how to lessen the fear of interviews and let your strengths shine through. This 45 minute workshop will help you answer common “challenging” interview questions and secure that new job with confidence.
