A Divine Saturday at Spa Divine

Spa Devine Port Moody

A week ago Saturday I enjoyed one of the most indulgent experiences I’ve ever had here in the Tri-Cities, when I paid a visit to Spa Divine at the Inlet. The Port Moody day spa is easy to overlook, tucked away on the corner of a strip mall. If you pay a visit, though, you’ll find a gorgeous little spa that matches any of the others I’ve visited.

My tea arrived while I was filling out an intake form, and then when I was finished with that I had a quick tour. There’s a women’s change room and relaxation, a men’s change room (that I didn’t visit), a manicure and pedicure area, waxing and massage rooms, and a charming Tranquility Lounge. The spa is decorated in muted gold tones, and as you would expect relaxing music is piped in, and the whole place smells great.

Unlike most other local spas, this one isn’t combined with a hair salon. This means that the space is much quieter and more relaxed, with fewer people coming through, and no noisy blow dryers. Spa Divine is a place to visit if you want true quiet, and an extremely luxurious experience.

Spa guests are asked to arrive early for their scheduled appointment, to give them time to get ready. Once I’d had my tour, I was given a heated robe and spa sandals to change into. I really liked the heated robe – it was fluffy and warm and as soon as it was on I felt more relaxed. Then I was led to the Tranquility Room, where my spa therapist Catrina met me and got me started with my complimentary warm foot soak. I couldn’t quite believe I was only five minutes from home as I sat there in a fluffy warmed robe, my feet in fragrant warm water, flipping through a magazine and feeling myself relax all over.

Then the whole thing is capped off with with a skin smoothing and muscle relaxing effleurage, plus a soothing neck and back massage. I have never indulged myself to this degree before. I really, really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it even more knowing that their own line of spa products is all natural and eco-friendly. Then the whole thing was capped off when I was led up to the relaxation area, and encouraged to stay for as long as I wanted. I’m not sure I have ever been quite so zen in my life. They really did think of every little detail to make it as perfect as possible.

I don’t visit spas very often, which makes the indulgence all that much better when I do. If you’re looking for some seriously luxurious relaxation, I would recommend Spa Divine. I know that a gift card for a spa treatment will definitely top my Mother’s Day wish list from here on out. If you’d like to stay in the loop on deals to make your own indulgence a little more affordable, you can subscribe to their mail list at their website, or visit their features page.
