Port Moody Self Employment Information Session

Port Moody WorkBC Employment Centre Training Innovations

In the beginning, running your own business can be an uphill climb. While the entrepreneur is often celebrated for their individual initiative, no business is a success without the support of others.

The Port Moody WorkBC Centre is hosting an information session about the Self Employment Program at Douglas College. This program is for those who are unemployed and are currently receiving employment insurance benefits, or have received benefits in the past. The program offers practical training, business advice, and group support to help you get your business off the ground. You may be eligible for income support as you start up your business.

Michelle Jickling, Business Consultant from the Training Group at Douglas College will be in attendance to describe the program including participant eligibility and suitability, and you will also hear from local business owners who participated in the program and are now successfully running their own businesses.

This session is taking place at the Port Moody WorkBC Employment Services Centre. They host sessions such as this one, plus they offer drop in resources and tools to help support your job search. Their staff can help you build a personal employment plan, identifying what you need to find a job and laying out the steps to help get you closer to that paycheck.

You can visit them on the web at portmoodyesc.com.
