Ecowest Port Coquitlam bankrupt

Port Coquitlam home renovation company Ecowest recently filed for bankruptcy. Hundreds of homeowners are now out thousands of dollars for work that was never done. Unfortunately, I’m one of those homeowners. For a fascinating trip through my master bedroom, check out this story from Global News. The RCMP have also launched an investigation into the shady dealings.

Speaking of investigations, on Friday morning a chunk of the Evergreen line guideway over Como Lake Road fell out of place. Since my commute takes me under that guideway every morning, I think I’ll take the Barnet Highway to work until they figure all that out. I’ve been in the news enough lately.

Poco is getting a little bit of tax relief this year. There will be a 0.21% property tax decrease, which works out to a savings of around $4 for the average single family home. Poco residents rejoice as at the next family fast food outing, Super Sizing is a clear possibility.
