The skinny: Here’s a fun activity for the morning after – recycle your old car seat. Kids now string-beaning themselves into the front seat? Garage too small to hold onto all that baby paraphernalia? Not trying for another??? Get rid of that infant or booster seat at pmd Recycling Solutions’ mobile depot this weekend. For $10 dispose of the seat (only $5 if you strip it apart yourself).

What:  Harlequin Hypnosis Show

The skinny: A steampunk-style hypnosis stage show with added prizes for arriving in costume. It’s a night of hilarity, extravaganza, entertainment and amazement. What: Kevin Lavigne: The Road to Carnegie Hall

The skinny:   A story-telling songfest, recounted by singer Ken Lavigne as he enchants the audience with his tale of “How I Got to the Carnegie Hall”. Complete with a four-piece band, this promises to be a musical evening of tales by the underdog. Tickets: $35, $30 and $15

What: Eat Your Heart Out | Kick-off Event
When:  Monday, February 17 from 5:00 – 10:30pm
Where: Civic Centre Galleria, 100 Newport Drive, Port Moody (map)
The skinny: This year’s nosh-fest in aid of our local hospital foundation kicks off the week-long dining series with a meet-and-mingle with other participants before your trolley shuttle around the restaurant loops. Tickets for the food-oriented medical fundraiser are $75 per person, and include transport from table to table (so you don’t have to walk off any calories) plus the taster menus at each of the three restaurants. Loop 1 comprises Boathouse, St. James Well and Mr. Mikes; loop 2 comprises Onyx, Saint St. Grill and Browns Socialhouse. The dessert trolley and prizes await your return to the Galleria to finish the evening. Bon appetit!
