“Aussie” New Year’s Eve

This is your chance to enjoy all the fun of New Year’s Eve without the price tag. It’s a New Year’s Eve prequel in honour of those Down Under who are ringing in 2014 a little earlier than the rest of use. Enjoy a special menu, champagne, party favours and the popular Laugh with the DAM Stars show. No need to scramble to find an overpriced sitter and an even more overpriced cab with this one. Just remember to book early for best seating!

New Year’s Eve at the Giggle Dam

Bring in 2014 with a hilarious bang as the DAM cast lets loose with the celebrated Laugh with the DAM Stars show. This comedic, once a year only, musical extravaganza features a six piece live band and a plethora of well known celebrity impersonations. Celine Dion, Garth Brooks, Cher, Neil Diamond, Rod Stewart and the DAM’s resident king, Elvis Presley will provide something for everyone and will keep all in stitches the whole night through! Chef Pieter J Van Meenen kicks it up in the kitchen and they provide the DAM champagne and party favours for the big countdown. This event always sells out, so don’t wait to book!

New Year’s Eve Fireworks

This fifth-annual professional fireworks display will ring in the New Year on the field at Maple Creek Middle School. Started by a pair of local students who met at Pinetree Secondary and went on to become licensed pyrotechnicians, last year’s event saw more than 1000 attendees. The show begins right at midnight, but you’re invited to come at around 11:30pm to enjoy music and meet with your family and friends. Donations are appreciated and will be accepted at the show, as this event is financed by the organizers.

Latin Dance Party

This New Year’s Eve party features all night dancing with Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cha-cha-cha, Cumbia and more. Ring in 2014 with your dancing shoes on! There will be live performances, a dance class for absolute beginners to kick the night off, appetizers and desserts, and champagne at midnight. Dress to impress! Tickets are $35 before December 30, 2013, and $40 at the door. Parking is free.

Our Lady Peace

Okay, so taking Red Robinson’s name off the theatre may be controversial, but that doesn’t mean you won’t find some great acts at the recently re-branded Hard Rock Casino Vancouver. On New Year’s Eve the venue will host Juno Award-winning Our Lady Peace as they rock in 2014. Tickets are $99.50 for General Admission or $139.50 (plus service charges) for an exclusive Pre-Show reception featuring a sampling of Hard Rock Casino Vancouver’s menu from its various on-site restaurants paired with a glass of sparkling wine.

Quiring in the New Year

The Quiring Chamber Players return for their sixth annual celebration of New Year’s Eve featuring guest musicians Leah Roseman (violin), Andrew Luchkow (cello), and Angela Malmberg (violin). The program includes works by Mozart, Haydn, and Schumann. A sparkling reception follows the concert.

New Year’s Eve at The Boathouse

The Boathouse Restaurant in Port Moody is offering a special three course New Year’s Eve dinner for those who would like to spend the last evening of 2013 enjoying the casually elegant waterfront restaurant. Be sure to book your reservations in advance, so that you can enjoy your meal before 2014 arrives. Or if brunch is more your style, they’ll be serving that up on New Year’s Day.

New Year’s Eve Party at the Cat & Fiddle
