Unplug at the Crossroads Coffeehouse this Fall

The Crossroads Coffeehouse has been raising funds and awareness for the Crossroads Inlet Centre Hospice for 15 years. The music series is still going strong, with “Unplugged at the Crossroads Hospice Coffeehouse”. It’s music in a casual atmosphere focused on acoustical performances from a wide range of musical genres. If you stop by an event at The Gathering Place in Port Coquitlam’s Leigh Square, you’ll find the best coffeehouse live musical experience in the Tri-Cities.

Each Crossroads Coffeehouse event opens at 7:30pm with an open mic session. Five performers each receive a 15 minute set. If you’d like to be one of them, contact MC Bill Marshall at wrmarshall@shaw.ca or 604.944.8114. You can also sing up at the door between 7:00 and 7:30pm if there is still room available.

Admission is just $5 at the door, making this a great value. Plus, you’ll know the money is going to a good cause, as all proceeds benefit Crossroads Hospice. There are three upcoming performances this fall that you may want to add to your calendar:

Cade Knudson – October 25, 2013

Maple Ridge born and raised, Caden Knudson picks and slides old time American blues and folks songs, as well as a few Eastern Canadian classics; the songs you heard so long ago.

Darren Exley – November 8, 2013

Back again – always fresh! Darren is a contemporary musician who develops his craft in Maple Ridge. As a singer/songwriter, bandleader and producer, Darren has a vested interest in seeing a resurgence in the local music scene. His overall style combines multiple genres from the past and present, with new sounds that will resonate into the future.

The Land Of Deborah – November 22, 2013

The Land of Deborah is an independent artist with a unique take on life, love and the pursuit of fair trade chocolate. Her songs are a cornucopia of feel good, infectious songs that are personal, eclectic and downright fun. If you like Sarah McLachlan, Aimee Mann or Sara Bareilles, you will love visiting The Land.
