A fast-paced week moving from sheep in opera, to Bond, James Bond, fast cars and aiming for a hole-in-one for charity.
Summertime, and the living is easy … don’t forget to check out The V3H Events Calendar for more regular shindigs.

The skinny:   Sheep – to sheep, perchance to dream … but not in this energetic performance of Bernstein’s operatic take on Voltaire’s novel. Where: Gates Park, Port Coquitlam (map)
The skinny: Those awfully nice outdoor entertainment people in PoCo are bringing the quintessential British spy to an outdoor cinema screen near you this Friday. Sponsored by G&F Financial Group, prepare to be shaken (and stirred, if you are une femme d’un certain âge) by the latest Bond romp. Blood, guts, pecs and lots of guns – good family entertainment. What: Kamikaze Raceway 10th Anniversary Open House
When:  Saturday, August 24 from 1:00 – 3:00pm
Where: Upper Coquitlam River Park, off Pipeline Road and past both cement works and Jack Cewe Aggregate facility (map)
The skinny: Maybe you’ve never ventured this far north out of Coquitlam before, but today would be a good day to try. Coquitlam Area Model Racing Club has a ‘secret’ racetrack tucked away off Pipeline Road, where keen drivers race their turbo-charged vehicles around in the dirt. Hours of endless fun. Maybe you saw their demo during Canada Day at Lafarge Lake this year? If you’d like to try it again, visit their open house today – try out a model car race, watch the pro drivers hurtle round the track, and join in the raffle for prizes. All proceeds go to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
