What’s Happening in the Tri-Cities: Mother’s Day Treats Galore, Beer-tasting, Thrifting and more!

May Pole 2015 Port Coquitlam

This week it’s Mother’s Day or May Day, or both – Port Coquitlam has it covered with a splendid array of events ending with Sunday’s picnic in the park. Other mom-inspired treats include meeting the seals by kayak or viewing land-based nature on a hike through the Riverview Hospital grounds. Why not make a weekend of it? If peace and quiet is more her thing, then teens – take yourselves off to the Terry Fox Library for an in-costume Read-a-Thon on Saturday; dads – take the little ones off for a spin at the amusement park set up outside PoCo rec centre. Wiser families pamper their moms by setting them free – the city-wide garage sales in Coquitlam and Port Moody take place on Saturday.
