The skinny:  Where do we end and where does everything else begin? David Sands, a graduate of Emily Carr University’s class of 2000, explores relationships between individuals and the external world, including interactions with other people. His work probes the question of how these relationships sculpt our own reality. He is inspired by Pop Art, a movement founded by Andy Warhol which includes the use of everyday objects and products as a way to comment on what these commodities mean to us on a level beyond the obvious. Another style his work can be identified with is Surrealism – which fuses elements of reality seamlessly with dream states.  For a look at his work and history of exhibitions, check out his website at www.davidsands.ca. The artist will be in attendance at the Opening Reception. Free event. The exhibition runs from November 1st to December 3rd.
