Summer is officially here in the Tri-Cities, the kids are out of school, and we’re ready to get outside. We’re not the only ones. With the warmer weather musicians and performing artists are also headed outdoors for concerts. We’ve rounded up some events you may want to take in this season. All of the concerts are open to all ages, and even better they’re FREE, so what have you got to lose? Grab a blanket, pack a picnic, and prepare to be entertained.

Village Vibe

Every Saturday in July and August, 2012, between 2:00 and 4:00pm, Port Coquitlam’s Leigh Square [map] plays host to emerging artists. We get to see some talented performers, and they get experience in front of a live audience. On Saturday, July 7, 2012 you can experience hip hop, latin, ballroom, bellydance, Bollywood, classical Indian and more. There will be more dance, theatre and music all summer long, so be sure to stop by and check it out!

Music in the Park

Starting July 8, 2012 and continuing every Sunday until the end of August between 2:00 and 4:00pm, Port Coquitlam’s Lions Park [map] will come alive as professional musicians perform. You’ll hear a variety of genres including jazz, blues, folk, world fusion, and contemporary. Up first you can catch The Bent Nails. Every week there’s something new, so bring a blanket and the kids and take it in!

Summer Sundays
