Wheel 2 Heal 2012

Wheel to Heal 2012 Coquitlam

Ready to hope on your bike for a good cause? Wheel 2 Heal is coming back to the Tri-Cities on May 6, 2012. Each year, 100,000 patients visit Eagle Ridge Hospital, including over 40,000 patients in their emergency room. The money raised during Wheel 2 Heal helps purchase critically-needed equipment to serve those patients. The funds from year’s Wheel 2 Heal ride will go directly towards new endoscopy equipment. Plus, the event is just a whole lot of fun.

There are three courses to choose from – the all-ages 10km course, a slightly more challenging 40km course and a 100km course for the serious cyclists. You can enter as an individual or as a team. All races depart from, and finish up at, Celebration Plaza. The plaza will be located at Lot E in Town Center Park, Coquitlam, at the corner of David and Pinetree.

New this year is the addition of a Kids Race, free for kids eight years old and under. Three to five year olds will race on a 500m course at 10:45am, and six to eight year olds will race on a 1km course at 11:00am.

If you’re not up to cycling, you can still make a donation to support the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation. You can also stop by Celebration Place on May 6, 2012, between 10:00am and 2:30pm. There will activities, games, music, incredibly fresh and delicious food, and performances and displays by some of the best cyclists and bike companies in the world.
