Port Moody’s Caffé Divano: So Much More than Coffee

Caffe Divano Port Moody

Caffé Divano has long been a favourite stop for the V3H-ers. Today, we’re publishing a review of this Port Moody restaurant from our new contributor Tamara Elias Guerra.

Off the Beaten Path

Nestled in Klahanie’s urban setting of townhouses and condo buildings is a hidden gem called Caffé Divano; a unique, local coffee shop that’s off the beaten path but well worth the visit.

Located just off Murray Street, the quiet spot provides the perfect setting for a midday getaway. Whether you want to curl up in one of their comfy leather chairs and get lost in a book while sipping on some imported Serendipitea tea from New York, or find a table to set up your laptop to cram for an exam while downing espresso, there is plenty of seating space in this nice-sized café. They even have a patio for you to sit and relax with your dog, Freddy, on those days that the sun actually decides to make an appearance! Its close proximity to Rocky Point Park makes this Port Moody restaurant a great refueling stop after kayaking through Burrard Inlet, or a meeting place before you head for the walking trails with some friends. And Freddy won’t leave empty-handed, either, because you can grab a treat for your furry friend on the way out from their dog treat jar.

Made from Scratch In-House

The menu at this Port Moody restaurant includes coffee drinks made with locally roasted coffee beans from 49th Parallel, and a nice variety of loose teas – including a unique selection of London Fog concoctions. Throw in a few token muffins or squares, and that is where most coffee shop menus end. As you place your order at Caffé Divano, your attention will be grabbed by their front case filled with a variety of tantalizing baked goods. From scones and croissants to cupcakes and nutty, chocolatey delights, everything is made from scratch, in-house! You can sometimes smell the fresh baked goods being taken out of the oven in their kitchen, and there are always new items being added to the menu. If you’re needing something more substantial, you can order their hearty soups and paninis served by their friendly staff while you sit back and admire the paintings and photographs that cover the walls, all created by local artists.

Port Moody Restaurant Keeping with the Times

If you don’t think you can fit a coffee break into your busy schedule, don’t fret; Caffé Divano likes to roll with the times. The Port Moody restaurant has its very own mobile app that will allow you to order, pay and set a pickup time, so your order is ready when you get there. Great for that person on the go – I’m talking to all you commuters taking Murray Street every day to work!

It’s hard to find a coffee shop that satisfies the coffee connoisseur but can also appease the hungry belly. Caffé Divano is one of those secret spots that can do just that.
