What: Book Design Opening Reception
When: Saturday, December 10 at 2:00pm
Where: Leigh Square Community Arts Village [map]
The skinny: Leigh Square Community Arts Village collaborates with the Alcuin Society, a Vancouver based non-profit society for the support and appreciation of fine books, to present an exhibition of award winning books from the only national competition for book design in Canada from Dec. 2 to Jan. 16. The designs are a visual feast for the eyes and a typography dream.

What:Â Sailing Santa visits Rocky Point

The skinny: Calling all kids! Drop by Rocky Point pier and get a chance to visit with Santa. Afterwards, sign your name in the Great Book before Santa heads to the North Pole to get all the presents ready. The ships, lite with hundreds of Christmas lights, depart Reed Point Marina at approximately 7:00pm and should reach Rocky Point pier by 7:30pm.
