The skinny: Meet and engage with three compelling, internationally renowned BC artists in our three-part speaker series. Artists will speak / perform for 45 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of Q & A. This session: Vancouver-based visual artist Richard Tetrault has collaborated with communities from East Vancouver to Santiago, Cuba to create large-scale mural projects. Richard will speak about and show images from some of these mural collaborations and will relate his experiences working with community and arts organizations to conceive and carry out large-scale projects.

What: Mother of Mine

The skinny: This award-winning film tells the tale of a nine-year old Finnish boy who is one of 70,000 Finnish children evacuated to Sweden during World War II. He feels abandoned and when he eventually is reunited in his native Finland the reconciliation with his mother is not easy.
