A rather quiet week from events around the Tri-Cities but it’s all about quality vs quantity! A few good charitable causes, kid’s summer camps and other fun child-centered events, and the ever-popular PechaKuchaNight round out the events that are happening this week. Enjoy!

What: SHARE Food Bank Fill Up

The skinny: Help set a provincial record for the most food raised in 12 hours! Please join SHARE Food Bank at the SHARE Food Bank Fill Up. Have a food drive, collect food then bring it down to the Food Bank Fillup in the Coquitlam Centre parking lot. Come on down, enjoy the fun, grab a hotdog, meet Philup our mascot and help set a record!

What:Â Footloose – The Musical

The skinny: One of the most explosive movie musicals in recent memory bursts onto the live stage with exhilarating results. When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What: Fundraiser for Pets-Matter Foster Care Society
When: Saturday, July 23 at 8:00am

The skinny: The first annual fundraising garage sale for The Pets-Matter Foster Care Society. The Society assists families who were in temporary crisis and in need of temporary care for their pets. Dogs and cats can be surrendered to rescue where they are then adopted to new families but, regardless of the desire to be re-united, most pets are lost to their families in times of crisis. We are offering to temporarily care for family pets with the goal of returning them to their families.

What: Itsy Bitsy Children’s Theatre Festival

The skinny: It’s all about the kids this Saturday as Leigh Square is transformed into the Itsy Bitsy Children’s Festival. Bring the whole family down for this afternoon of magical, whimsical fun! Dubbed as the world’s shortest running children’s theatre festival, Itsy Bitsy is an evolution of last summer’s Summer Heat Festival at Second Storey Theatre and will feature fantastic children’s theatre, dance, roving characters, cupcake station (by Luscious Creations), puppets, stories, crafts and more.
