What: Fundraiser for the Coquitlam Bookmobile

The skinny: Organized by Mayor Richard Stewart, Councillor Linda Reimer and Owen Coomer, we are hoping to raise money for the Coquitlam Bookmobile. Richard Stewart will be behind the bar from 6-7pm “serving” the community… Here’s your opportunity to meet him one on one.

What: The 35th Annual Golden Spike Days Festival

The skinny: The Golden Spike Days Festival is an annual family festival held around Canada Day in Rocky Point Park, Port Moody, British Columbia. It commemorates the completion of the Canadian Pacific Railway to the city and the Confederation of Canada. The festival includes many live musical performances, dancers, parades, comedians, rides, and food shops.

The skinny: The Golden Spike Days Inlet Run returns to Port Moody thanks to Port Coquitlam’s Running Room and the collaborative efforts of Golden Spike Days Society volunteers. Those interested in the 5K and 10K run/walk can sign-up online via the Running Room’s website. All participants will receive food, water, and a medal, with proceeds going to the Golden Spike Days Society.
