Well, it happened in dramatic fashion with a last minute tying goal and a bizarre overtime winner. The Canucks are back in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1994, and we here at theV3H HQ are pretty pumped. Some of our local bloggers are sharing different tidbits. The Vancouver Observer has a picture slideshow of Granville Street after the big win. Miss604 has some great shots, including one from Mt. Everest. City Caucus tells us that Rogers Arena will be open for the away games on the big screen. Tell us about your favourite place in the Tri-Cities to cheer on the Canucks here in the comments or on our Facebook Page.

The long and winding road to the United Boulevard Extension met a dead end in New West, and Translink has decided not to go ahead with the controversial project. Speaking of transportation not being built, a small 2.5 meter square plot of land in Port Moody has been dedicated as municipal road for the Evergreen Line.

PechaKucha Night #3 is coming up in Coquitlam, and ArtsConnect tells us that the videos from PechaKucha #2 are now up on their YouTube channel.

The May newsletter from the Anmore Times is out, and you can get your very own PDF copy to see what’s happening out there in the trees beyond Ioco Road.

The Hyack Festival is on once again in New West, and 10th to the Fraser tells us about a pivotal figure in May Day’s past, J.J. Johnson.

The Blue Trees around Port Moody City Hall provide a funky backdrop to Heather and Steve’s engagement photos.

Finally Terry Fox Secondary staged a production of my favourite 70’s rock opera, Jesus Christ Superstar back in April. They have sliced up the video of the production and put it on the drama department’s Youtube channel. Here’s a selection. And once again, Go Canucks Go!
