What’s Up in the Tri-Cities: Youth Week, RUSH Race + More!

This week brings plenty of entertainment events in the form of theatre, comedy and dances. There are also events for the Youth Week 2011 and many more for all ages.

What: Hay Fever

The skinny: The Bliss Family are anticipating the arrival of guests for the weekend in their disorganized country home. Nobody – diplomat, flapper, boxer or aristocrat – knows each other and they are thrown into a potpourri of theatrical excesses.

What: Bye Bye Birdie

The skinny: The Lindbjerg Academy of Performing Arts’ Rising Stars Advanced Class (ages 13-19) invites you into the world of “Bye Bye Birdie”. Loosely based on Elvis Presley being drafted into the army, Bye Bye Birdie is a musical tribute to the simpler time of the late 1950’s. It includes high energy songs and dances appropriate for the whole family!

The skinny: In celebration of Charlene’s life, Port Moody is hosting the Charlene Reaveley – Family Bootcamp Fundraiser on Saturday April 30. The event will begin with a Family Bootcamp, followed by a Yoga stretch. Even little ones will have a special Preschool Bootcamp and kids’ activity area. Also includes a live band and other fun activities for all ages. All proceeds will benefit Charlene’s young family.

What: Smashing Color Displays with Summer Bulbs

What: Suburban RUSH Race

The skinny: Suburban RUSH is a short course adventure race and is a great introduction to multi-sport off-road racing. Based on your fitness level it may take any where from 2 – 6 hours to complete. What: Les Échos du Pacifique in concert

The skinny: The concert will feature three pieces from the film Les choristes, as well as two lullabies about the melancholic francophone character “Pierrot”.
