BC Day Long Weekend in the Tri-Cities

It’s the BC Day long weekend! Here are just a few ways to get out and enjoy it right here in the V3H.

What: Music on the Grill: Téa and Tamara Rhodes
When: Thursday, July 29 with dinner at 7pm and the concert at 8pm
Where: Evergreen Cultural Centre [map]
The skinny: Téa was born in Belgrade, Serbia and has made Vancouver her home for nearly a decade. The singer/pianist/songwriter has been winning audiences over with her own brand of “City Soul”, a fusion of R&B, Soul, and Pop music. Tamara Rhodes is described as an “old soul with a young heart”, and she’s making a scene in jazz circles these days. Her sound is as familiar as the sultry, smokey Jazz and Blues greats like Ella and Billie, yet as fresh and hip as modern songstresses like Alicia Keys, Macy Gray and Jill Scott. And before either of them get going, Chef Paul is whipping up a Jazzy Mediterranean BBQ meal.
