What: Little Women
When: Thursday, May 20 to Saturday, May 22

The skinny: Don’t miss this poignant, funny and profound production of LITTLE WOMEN, with original script by Deborah Solberg based on the story by Louisa M. Alcott, and original music by Peter Abando. Theatrix Youtheatre Society is proud to present the latest mentoring project, pairing youth with adults. Enjoy this timeless tale of a family showing grace under fire.

What: Port Coquitlam Farmer’s Market

The skinny: Eating local is easy every Thursday at the Port Coquitlam Farmer’s Market, featuring a great selection of locally grown produce and local products. Enjoy fresh produce, baking, preserves and pickles, jewellery, art, children’s activities, cooking demonstrations and talented local entertainers. This market is presented in partnership with the Haney Farmer’s Market.

What: Yoga and Meditation
When: Thursday, May 20 from 7-8:30pm
Where: Poirier Library [map]
The skinny: Saima Shah of Vital Point Healing and Vital Energy Yoga, shares her knowledge, love and passion for these two practices that reduce stress and increase quality of life. Saima will cover the history of yoga and how to easily incorporate it into your life, as well as meditation techniques and the best ways to start and maintain meditation practice. The session will include a 20 minute yoga session and a 25 minute meditation class. The program is free, and registration is required.

What: Connoisseur’s Night

The skinny: Calling all art lovers! Join the Art Gallery curator for an evening of art and culture. The event includes a tour of the current exhibition, The Vulture, the Loot and the Anvil by Jay Hanscom, and a fun, social mingling of minds.

What: Gallop and Go!

The skinny: This concert is part of the Tiny Tots Series, presented by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. This symphonic adventure into farmyard fun with Let Your Music Shine will have tots bouncing to that barnyard beat.

What: Investment Insights
When: Saturday, May 22 from 1:30-3pm

The skinny: James Leung, Financial Advisor at Edward Jones, will teach the basics of stocks, mutual funds and fixed-income investments, and help you develop a plan for a stress free retirement. The program is free, and registration is required.

What: Hanging Baskets
When: Sunday, May 23 from 10-11am

The skinny: Learn how to customize, design, plant and maintain your spring and summer hanging baskets! All supplies required included. Participants will create and take home their own beautiful spring hanging baskets. Session presented by Garden Works. Cost is $30 and registration is required.

What: Paws, Play and Pinot Gris
When: Sunday, May 23 at 4pm
Where: Sasamat Outdoor Centre [map]
The skinny: This event promises a fantastic evening with your four-footed pal! Both you and your doggy friend will receive a free beverage of your choice, a scrumptious and hearty BBQ dinner, entertainment and lots of prizes. Tickets are $40 and all proceeds go to support Sasamat Outdoor Centre’s “Send a Kid to Camp!” which gives underpriviledged children the opportunity to experience the fun and welcoming environment of Camp Sasamat.

What: Elementary Plant Propagation
