Fingerling Festival on TheV3H TV

Now that my video editing gear is finally up and running, I’ve been cranking out the videos from footage we’ve shot around town recently. May 1st was the Fingerling Festival, put on by the great folks at the Port Moody Ecological Society.

We headed out with the kids and enjoyed the morning of salmon fry, community involvement and music. Big thanks to Bobs & Lolo for use of their song “Action Packed” off their latest album of the same name. Bobs & Lolo make great music that kids love, and as a parent I appreciate that it’s music you can groove along to as well. If you’re a parent, you know how certain mass-marketed children’s characters sell music that can make your teeth hurt. Bobs & Lolo are a welcome relief. You can buy the album as a CD, as a DVD with music videos, or get it directly as an mp3 at their website, bobsandlolo.com.

A couple of notes from the Port Moody Ecological Society to pass your way. They still have plenty of tulip and daffodil bulbs for sale at their Noons Creek Hatchery on Ioco Road, beside the ice rink. Prices from $5.

They are also updating their website and are holding a photo competition. They are seeking photos from past Fingerling Festivals, salmon in our local waters, and our local ecology. The winning photo will be displayed in the Port Moody Library for the month of July and the others will be used on our website and newsletters with full credit shown. To enter, check out www.noonscreek.org/photo-contest-2010

So without further ado, here’s the video of our adventure. Did you make it to the Fingerling Festival this year? Let us know in the comments.
