QuiRING in the New Year

Alright, you’re looking for something fun to do to ring in the second decade of the 2000’s (or the last year of the first decade for you stickler types). But let’s face it, going downtown is a hassle, and since you’re going to want to drink, that’s a very long transit or very expensive cab ride home. Why not find something fun to do closer to home? The Evergreen Cultural Centre is going to help you ring in the New Year right, and why not do it with a little Baroque chamber music?

The concert will feature Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos. The Quiring Chamber Players will perform three of the dramatic concertos joined by some of Canada’s most illustrious guest soloists including Soprano Robyn Driedger-Klassen singing a sparkling Bach Cantata accompanied by trumpet, harpsichord and strings. You can get a little preview of Robyn’s incredible vocal talents by launching the music player here.

And about the Quiring Chamber Players, from the website…

The Quiring Chamber Players (Angela Goddard, violin, Rosemary O’Connor, piano and Reg Quiring, viola) have been bringing world class chamber music performances and education to the Tri-Cities since their formation in 2002. They have established a reputation for presenting inspired and creative concerts which include will known guests from around North America.

Tickets are $32/$27/$22, and there will be a “sparkling” reception after the concert to ring in 2010: The Year We Make Contact.

Tickets are available at the box office by calling (604) 927-6555, or visit www.evergreenculturalcentre.ca
